Hi I am now working in a notebook using R. I require a package called Amelia. So I checked with available.packages() to identify it´s availability. It seems to be part of zeligverse (at least it is referenced as such). Trying to install these packages only result in availability issues or non-zero exit issues etc...
In my opinion this topic must go beyond R and apply to languages R, python etc.. In python the updates work quite well. but this is time consuming. Why not using the most current version and allow users to downgrade instead (which is already an available function).
I think the current version should at least be something like current version -1 and not current -2 or even -3 like it is today.
Why is it useful?

How should it work?
